Gauja National Park on a sup board

Price: from 350€
Duration: 3 days
Moderate
Group size: From 7 people

We want to invite you to explore our neighborhood country Latvia by visiting its lovely National Park.

Gauja National Park was established one year earlier (in 1973) than our beloved Aukstaitija National Park. The national park is characterized by a high biological diversity, rock outcrops and varied terrain shapes, springs, picturesque landscapes and many historical and cultural monuments from different centuries. We invite you to get to know it together and recharge your batteries with good energy while paddling through Gauja river.

The route Cesis – Sigulda (45 km.) has been completed by us many times now, but we still urge to come back as the nature and the atmosphere there feels so untouched by humans there… the unique landscape, the largest Devonian rock outcrops – sandstone precipices, rocks and caves are very unusual to our eyes and catch our attention every time.

This tour consists of 3 days (2 overnight stays). We will spend the first night in a powerful spot – in front of Tyutyu rock and next to a mysterious whirlpool of the river. SUP boarding distance for the first day will be around 12 km. Second day we will paddle for a bit longer – ~33 km. We won’t be in a rush, so don’t worry about the number of kilometers for the day. We will have a proper lunch break after completing around half of the route. We will spend the night at a private campsite. There will be a possibility to rent an authentic hot tub which looks like a giant soup pot as it is heated by fire from underneath. Our last day will be spent by hiking through the surroundings of Sigulda and visiting the Turaida Castle. We’ll have lunch in a local restaurant and will be heading back to Lithuania afterwards.
